The Nauruan Rugby Union has announced that it will host the Rugby World Series 2019 in 2018 in Auckland, New Zealand.
Nauru Rugby Association (NRA) chief executive Ian Smith has announced the announcement.
“We have always said that Naurus Rugby Union is committed to hosting Rugby World Cups and this announcement is the beginning of our journey to bring the Rugby Series back to Naurue in 2020,” Smith said in a statement.
“Nauruan rugby has long been a part of the Rugby Rugby World Community in New Zealand and we are proud to host a world-class competition that brings our great nation together.”
We are excited to see the Rugby Worlds 2019, as we have had a long-standing partnership with Naurues Rugby Union and we look forward to hosting the 2019 Rugby World Championship.
“The Rugby World Rugby Series is the world’s longest-running rugby series, with seven events, from the World Cup to the Olympics.
The 2019 Rugby Worlds will take place at the Marlborough International Stadium in the United Kingdom, from March 14-22.
