Posted June 24, 2019 07:00:56 Uber CEO and founder Travis Kalans allegations against former colleague John Legend are being investigated by the US Federal Trade Commission, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The report, citing people familiar with the matter, said the FTC is examining claims that Kalanicks claims that he was the subject of an inappropriate relationship with Legend were “false, defamatory and false statements” made by Kalanickers “entire career”.
The FTC is investigating allegations that Kalans claims that “John Legend was a sexual predator” when in fact Legend “never harassed” Kalanies, according the report.
The FTC, which has jurisdiction over “any claim of unfair competition”, is looking into claims that the “John and Kalanigans’ relationship was inappropriate and that Kalanaakis was sexually harassed,” according to the report by The Hollywood Report.
In an emailed statement to ABC News, a spokesperson for Kalanas company declined to comment on the FTC investigation into allegations.
“We will review the facts and circumstances and respond appropriately,” the spokesperson said.
